I’m a day late posting my starting XI for Gameweek 22, much like missing the deadline to set my team. Needless to say, this is going to be a bollocks of a fantasy week. It was my expectation to reintroduce Harry Kane to the forward line and move Chelsea’s, Eden Hazard out. Unfortunately, the hang over of New Year’s caught me by surprise and when I logged on headed to work, games had already started. Sadly, I had no alcohol to drink and was completely sober, just missed the deadline.
While I had anticipated a few moves this week, as I rolled over my FT from Gameweek 21 the lineup is unchanged, running out a 4-5-1 to start the gameweek. Unfortunately, my lone DGW asset, Arthur Masuaku is starting on the bench and I am devoid of any Spurs players.
Football is a funny game and with Kane being ill the past week, there is still no confirmed word he will play either or both games. Maybe that is more wishful thinking on my part, as my overall ranking could slip on the back of a big red arrow. Not the trip I want to be making.
While the gameweek is half over, I won’t talk about what has already transpired, saving that for tomorrow. My overall score now depends on Chelsea to come good, away to Arsenal. This would have been the gameweek I moved Hazard, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him post 15 points in attacking returns this week.
Not sure what’s happening with Andreas Christensen, he could have lost his starting spot after an illness that has seen him miss two games. However, on the back of Marcos Alonso, hopefully the defense can be spurred on and post a clean sheet against Wenger’s men.
Rotation has been absolutely nasty this last week, unable to field 11 men last week, it could be just as dire this week. I for one, will be happy when this run of fixtures is over, as it’s defined my season. Like Watford, losing in the last minute my season is stuck mid-table, giving away too many points.
