Premier League: GW20 Starting XI

…and in a blink of an eye, here comes game week 20. Coming off a solid 68 point week, unfortunately it wasn’t enough to garner a green arrow as I slide about 15k. This week with not much time between games, I made a rather quick decision to bring in Paul Pogba for Leroy Sane. Hopefully it doesn’t backfire, as City still have good fixtures, this week against So’ton. United faces a defensively leaky, Bournemouth.

As for my starting XI, it’s still not without problems, as I still carry Ederson as my goalkeeper. That’s not to say he couldn’t pull a CS this week, but 11 goals conceded in 9 games isn’t too reassuring. He could be at the end of his rope, but he’s still a luxury transfer I can’t make.

Defensively, I go with the back three of Marcos Alonso, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk. The Reds defenders have been excellent since doubling up on them and I am not ready to rule out the death of Alonso. Many managers continue to jump ship, as Chelsea haven’t been keeping clean sheets and no attacking returns, but has hit the post five times to lead the league.

The midfield has been bolstered, probably the first time all season it’s looked this stong. Pogba joins the fray with Felipe Anderson, Richarlison and a struggling Ryan Fraser, who could magically turn into Eden Hazard in a few weeks time. Still, United is shaky on defense, so the Cherries attackers could be a surprise call.

Up front, the premium duo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane, who grabs the armband for the second straight week. Both have been scoring at a regular clip and I somewhat torn as Arsenal play Liverpool.

Looks to be a challenging weekend for many, off the back of a big game week 19. Good luck!
