Hello and welcome to Episode 64 of the Pitch & Pint podcast, my name is Stephen and you can find me @6thGoal on Twitter. Continue reading “Pitch & Pint Podcast: Episode 64 Show Notes”
As you will hear me say on the podcast next week, this podcast is something I didn’t intend to follow through with at the end of July when I thought I was signing off from the Pitch & Pint Podcast forever. As luck has it, there still seems to be interest in the podcast. I posted a short “coming soon” message on Twitter as I am excited to get behind the microphone for another season. Season 3 will kick off the first of 40 planned episodes over the course of the season, with a preseason and season in review podcast. Continue reading “Pitch & Pint Podcast: Season 3”
It’s been an interesting FPL season and we are not even to the full complement of BGW and DGWs yet. We will know more information regarding the run in by Thursday that will help guide our planning and decision making for the remainder of the season. For me, it’s been rough patch to a point that I’ve dropped recording the Pitch & Pint Podcast and The FPL Roundtable. No longer to listen to ANY podcasts specific to FPL. Strangely, I’ve been rolling in green arrows since GW20. Continue reading “Addicted vs Don’t Care”
Just prior to starting this post I had to go back an look at the last time I brought some updated content, outside of a #30SecondBeerReview to this site. November 11 was the last update with a retrospect of GW12. To be honest I have no idea how that week ended. How some 14 weeks later, I really don’t care and that is the basis of this piece today. It’s the final week of the season and after a dismal performance in DGW37, it can’t come soon enough. It’s been a long and turbulent season, which has see highs and lows. However, it’s the lows that always seen to linger during the season. Harry Kane can fuck off! He’s been virtually useless on my starting XI all season long. Thankfully Mohamed Salah was a refreshing face that picked up much of Kane’s ineffectiveness.

I don’t know what I am going to do. That is the best I have on Thursday afternoon on the West Coast, as we stare down the barrel of the final double gameweek of the FPL season. Thankfully I have two transfers in hand, but a plethora of ideas on how to round out my starting XI. Not really high on the “double doublers” this weekend, concerning some single game replacements with great expectations.

When you think of football, you think of your mates, a pub and a few pints, watching matches and supporting your club. This, my 5th year, has been the first, I have engaged Twitter as my main source of FPL advice, but I didn’t start the season that way. It was also the first year I subscribed to a few fantasy services, along with listening to a handful of podcasts. Oddly enough, I find myself drawn to Twitter, like a moth to flame, for current FPL information.

After a piss poor Gameweek 25, I don’t believe the situation can get any worse. Rage, in conjunction with risk seem to dominate my thoughts recently. Frustration had set in prior to GW23, which saw a premature activation of the second wild card. In hindsight it wasn’t the correct decision, especially with 2 FT in the bank, didn’t know I would lose both once on the wild card. Last week, I followed my thoughts and introduced Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
